‘A Fine Line’ presented by Partnership Editions and The Hoxton
Partnership Editions has teamed up with The Hoxton to present a unique exhibition, A Fine Line, showcasing three emerging female artists.
Curated by Partnership Editions and The Hoxton, A Fine Line features works by London-based artists Alexandria Coe, Venetia Berry and Julianna Byrne. Each use line-drawing techniques to depict the female nude and the female experience, but with vastly different results.
The exhibition questions ideals of feminine beauty – challenging the fine line between the female nude being objectified and empowered. Rather than representing a specific woman, the artists celebrate ‘the everywoman’, encompassing the female form in all shapes, sizes and colours, each in their own style and technique.
Founder of Partnership Editions, Georgia Spray, explains:
“It feels poignant that I discovered all three artists through Instagram, a platform that can often tread a dangerous line in terms of the way women are represented, or represent themselves. I was drawn to the way that all three of the artists featured take ownership of the representation of the female body in an empowering and non-conformist way of their own.”
Partnership Editions aim to make remarkable art affordable for all. The curated platform unearths accessibly priced original artworks by today’s most talented emerging artists – a springboard for anyone looking to start or enhance their art collection. All artworks exhibited are available to purchase exclusively via Partnership Editions.
A Fine Line opens Monday 1st October at The Hoxton, Holborn, as part of a month-long celebration of art, craft, design and creativity across all locations.
