What are the major themes you pursue in your work?
I enjoy painting both abstract and figurative work.
What was the best advice given to you as an artist?
I started painting late (at age 30), so I did not get much advice from anyone.
Prefer to work with music or in silence?
I usually listen to Rock and Roll music when painting–singing along of course.
If you could only have one piece of art in your life, what would it be?
How about Hauptweg und Nebenwege by Paul Klee.
Who are your favorite writers?
Tom Wolfe, Margaret Atwood, and Robertson Davies.
