Inside the Studio

Contemporary Design Styles by Jolina Anthony

What are the major themes you pursue in your work?

The themes of my works are abstract, contemporary, and modern.

How did you first get interested in your medium, and what draws you to it specifically?

I like working with acrylic colors. They are easy to paint and water-dilutable, but also I work with different oil colors or dispersion.

If you couldn’t be an artist, what would you do?

I love to set up an apartment or a house. I would like to be an interior designer.

Who are some of your favorite artists, and why?

My favorite artists are Jasper Johns and Willem de Kooning, I like their materials and colors.

What’s the best advice given to you as an artist?

It is the enthusiasm of the people and the different interpretations of the artwork.
