London New Futures Shortlist March 2022
As part of The Other Art Fair’s continued mission to break down traditional barriers of the contemporary art world, New Futures is designed to launch the careers of talented emerging artists through prizing that includes free exhibition space and mentorship. Today we announce the shortlist for the Spring edition of The Other Art Fair London, as selected by our Selection Committee – Leyla Reynolds (Guest Judge), Ryan Stanier (Founder of The Other Art Fair) and Anouka Pedley (London Fair Director).
We are delighted to be working with Leyla Reynolds on selecting this edition’s impressive roster of artists. Leyla herself is an artist & curator living and working in London. Her practice concerns the intersection between visual representations and socio-political change – particularly in the case of the British black arts movement. Formerly she was art director and founding member at the award-winning online magazine gal-dem (run voluntarily by women and non-binary people of colour) working with clients such as Adidas, Greater London Assembly and V&A.
From the following shortlisted candidates, two will be announced as the artists that join our New Futures Class of 2022. The artists will be awarded a stand at our Fair in March 2022 and will exhibit amongst a curated collection of 150 contemporary emerging artists. So, without further ado… the shortlist.
