5 Art Events Not to Miss In May

Exciting art and design events are popping up all over this month. If you are in the mood to be out and about, here’s our roundup of 5 shows and exhibits not to miss in May, plus a few more…

1… Flux Public Art Projects (New York) May 3 – 31, 2016
Come outside and explore Harlem’s Marcus Garvey Park this month to discover the latest in creative contemporary public art. Flux Public Art Projects features new works from 40+ artists, more than half of who are women. 2… Frieze New York (New York) May 5-8, 2016
Visit the super-sized light-filled tent on Randall’s Island and explore what’s new in emerging and established contemporary art. 3… Art16 (London) May 19-22, 2016
Enjoy a glass of bubbly while taking in more than 1,000 artworks created by contemporary artists from more than 30 countries. 4… ArteBA (Buenos Aires) May 19-22, 2016
This year marks the 25th edition of ArteBA, dedicated to celebrating and supporting the production and growth of contemporary art in Argentina and Latin America. Visit the fair at La Rural convention center to experience the best in Argentine art and visiting galleries from Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and beyond. 5… Auckland Art Fair (Auckland, NZ) May 25-29, 2016

6… And a bonus event, Détail Contemporain, New works by Nushka (Paris, France) May 26-June 26, 2016
Hosted by Saatchi Art, in collaboration with Galerie L’Oeil du Prince, Détail Contemporain features brand new works by Saatchi Art artist Fanny Nushka Moreaux.  Nushka paints interior scenes and representations of the body that seem to be on the brink of disappearing before the viewer’s eyes.
