How would you describe your artwork?

My work is mostly abstract – sometimes gestural and loose or geometric and tight. I really enjoy bouncing between different ways of drawing and painting.

What does making art mean to you?

Art for me is a discipline, a mantra practised daily in solitude, my livelihood, and an obsession as well as a joy.

How did you get started making art?

I can’t remember when I wasn’t making. At age 4 and 5 I filled exercise books with drawings and collage, which had a lot to do with learning to read and write and language, but also to do with trying to draw what I saw around me and telling stories.

What is it like to be a part of The Other Art Fair?

Being part of the The Other Art Fair for the first time was really exciting, and to be honest utterly terrifying. I really didn’t know what to expect.
The team at TOAF is very supportive but it’s really up to you to bring your drive and turn it into what you want. I was in awe of the effort all the artists put into it and I found the whole experience really inspiring. It was very grounding connecting with an audience too.
