#TOAFtakeover Good morning art lovers! This is Norwegian artist @geraldines_galleri in Horten Norway, taking over The Other Art Fair’s instagram account for the day. I will be sharing studio shots, paintings, inspiration and some insight of my work process. My studio is out at an old naval base called #Karljohansvern from 1820, so I would love to show you some details from my hood as well. This shot is taken just around my studio corner, in front of the 45,2 meter long submarine called Utstein. Sometimes it is good to feel small, it put things in perspective. #TOAFtakeover A typical #photoshoot at the great #fotografhellekhagen Documenting my artwork for online and catalogue use is important. To be able to show the structures, brush strokes, strong colors in contrast to sobre transitions. The interaction with my work through tools, colors and the act of the white canvas being covered layers by layers – a part of that can actually be experienced in a good high resolution photo. #TOAFtakeover Just hours ago I got an email from @Saatchiart telling me "I’m very pleased to let you know that your work «Younging» has been chosen to be featured in the New Abstracts #Collection on Saatchi Arts homepage». This has happened some times since I made my online artist profile – and it makes me so glad every time. I can really notice through social media, emails and on my Saatchi Art profile, that I have been selected. It is a great way of getting your work displayed to a new audience.
