TV Party: 4 Must-See Videos for Salvador Dali Fans

Happy Birthday Salvador Dali! This magnetic surrealist artist was anything but camera shy. In addition to collaborating on Hollywood films and creating some amazing magazine covers for Vogue, Dali was conscious of the enormous promotional power of media, and made several appearances on popular television programs in the 1950’s and 1960’s. He even lent his mustachioed flair to a few humorous commercials!

Sit back and enjoy these gems we found on YouTube, and celebrate the unmatched style and humor of one of Surrealism’s greats.

1 ) Dali appeared on the prime time hit show What’s My Line? more than once.

Find out if he stumps the celebrity panel when he plays the mystery guest in 1957.

2 ) Dali talks mustaches and modesty with Merv…

… while promoting his new book in 1965. Learn why he loves rhinoceros the best.

3 ) Dali’s iconic facial feature exhibits some star power of its own

in this television commercial for Lanvin Chocolates…

4 ) … and, his jocular Mad-Men era spot for Braniff Airlines hamming it up with baseball legend Whitey Ford steals the show!

See it for yourself here…
