Dalian: A Day in the Life of Local Artist Han Xiao
May 05, 2016Posted by Lenéa Sims
Discover Dalian, China as seen through the eyes of a local artist in, “A Day in the Life of Han Xiao.” This week, Han offers a peek into her daily life in the city, sharing her favorite spots along the way…
I start my busy day by breast-feeding my little baby. He is 7 months old now.
For breakfast, I have sweet dumplings.
Getting around is not easy. I usually walk with the stroller to a cake shop to buy some small bread or stock up at the market. And if I have more time, I like to go to the nearby bookshop to read.
I get to my home studio when my baby is asleep. Today, I am doing some practice on “faces”.
After the 10th day of the first lunar month calendar, Chinese people begin to celebrate Yuanxiao Festival. All of the stores will display red lanterns. I’m really excited about a new, special toy counter and a sushi restaurant that just opened at Zhongshan District of Dalian City. I’m planning to check it out next month.
When I finish working, I’ll buy a new bouquet of fresh blooms for my house and watch the baby play. Then I’ll make my dinner.
