One to Watch
Sunyoung Hwang
Sunyoung Hwang was born in South Korea and received her BFA (First Class Honours) from the Slade School of Fine Art in London, where she won the Steer Memorial Prize for her degree show. She currently lives in London and will earn her MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art in 2016. Sunyoung has been invited to show her work at exhibitions in London and Seoul. Her large-scale, abstract paintings mesmerize the viewer with bright, contrasting colors and overlapping geometric and organic forms that give the flat canvases the illusion of depth.
