Xuan Khanh Nguyen’s vibrant landscapes are meditations on his surroundings, coupled with what he calls “far-away dreams of a pure universe embedded in everybody’s memory.” He pulls inspiration from his native Vietnam, working with recurring subjects and a minimal color palette to produce a unified view of the world around us. Crowds of schoolgirls dressed in traditional ao dai congregate under lush trees that change color with the passing seasons, evoking nostalgia for times past.
“My art picks up where reality stops, with far-away dreams of a pure universe embedded in everybody’s memory.” – Xuan Khanh Nguyen.
Khanh studied at the Hanoi University of Fine Arts and the Central College of Music and Fine Arts. His works have been exhibited in Vietnam and Europe and are held in private collections around the world.
