Yukari Kaihori was born in Japan, has a BA from Lewis & Clark College, Portland, Oregon, US and currently lives in Wellington, New Zealand. Combining observations of her adopted homeland, memories of Japan where she grew up and of her formative years in Oregon, her works are fuelled by a deep attraction and admiration for nature which she shares with one of her favourite artists, Georgia O’Keeffe, who said: “Nothing is less real than realism. Details are confusing. It is only selection, by elimination, by emphasis that we get at the real meaning of things”.
Yukari has exhibited her works in the UK, Japan and New Zealand.
