Liu Chenyang is a Chinese artist who received both her BFA and MFA in oil painting from the Guangxi Arts Institute. Her paintings communicate a distinctly female experience, and one of her main interests in her paintings is to capture a sense of being alone as a woman, either comfortably so or in a state of passive dissatisfaction. In 2012, she was invited to hold a solo show at Muma Arts Space in Guangzhou, China. She participated in the 2011 group show of emerging Chinese artists at Soeme Fine Arts in Beijing, and has been included in numerous group exhibitions throughout China as well as abroad.
