Nikki Gerak
The work of London based artist Nikki Gerak skirts the boundary between cartoonish and unnverving. Her figures are seized by melancholy or mania, their often exposed breasts heightening their vulnerability. The contrived scenes leave the viewer unsure of whether they should scowl or smirk. Illya Trofumchuk
Illya Trofymchuk dissects and disrupts the human form in his outdoor sculpture. These faceless, alienated forms suggest some distant future. The sculptures’ textures range from sleek and reflective to rough, even volcanic, suggesting a juxtaposition between the two worlds they might occupy. Trained formally at Lviv Academy of Arts College of Applied and Decorative Arts, Illya also participated in a number of exhibitions supporting his home country of Ukraine. His work has also been featured by Saatchi Art curators. Discover more of Illya’s work here.
Hazel Thomson
The forests of United Kingdom based artist Hazel Thomson invite us to take a moment to pause. Amidst the trees, one can almost hear the serene soundscape of the forest – leaves crunching, birds chirping, branches rustled by the wind. In a world buzzing with activity, Hazel’s pure focus on our peaceful, natural spaces is refreshing. Hazel has a 10 year history of exhibition participation in the UK, including showing at the Other Art Fair. She’s also been featured by Saatchi Art curators. Discover more of Hazel’s work here.
Brendan Kramp
Brendan Kramps photorealist scenes of cafes and bars plant the viewer firmly in his world – our perspective hanging fixed, suggesting our intrusion into each simulated space. Streaming light spills, bends, and refracts, intensifying the realism and even dramatizing the scene. Figures are few and far between, an atmosphere of introspective calm moving to the fore in their stead. Brendan studied at Brown University, the University of Minnesota, as well as HEC Paris. His work has been featured by Saatchi Art curators, and he’s also been featured at The Other Art Fair and in the Saatchi Art Catalogue. Discover more of Brendan’s work here.
