Jonas Fisch Launches First Limited Edition Prints for Saatchi Art with Swedish-style Fika

This past Saturday, we were honored to host Swedish-born artist Jonas Fisch and several dozen of his fans in our newly minted gallery space at our offices in Santa Monica for a fika – the name of a traditional Swedish coffee-break. Our Chief Curator Rebecca Wilson introduced LA-based Fisch whose work is prominently featured in our From the Street show. He beautifully introduced his graphic, street-art inspired work with a time-lapse video of his process followed by a presentation of the finished work in the flesh. Next up, Kat Henning and Jessica McQueen, the curators of From the Street, opened the floor for questions beginning with a few of their own. Our Saatchi Art curation team then led a tour of the exhibition which features work by 12 Los Angeles-based artists who each engage with street and pop art in a signature style.

The most exciting element of this fika, however was the announcement of two exclusive limited edition prints by Jonas. Titled “ShotGunTongue” and “Los Angeles Mental Institution,” these works are the first that Jonas has ever made in limited edition print form and were specially commissioned by Saatchi Art in conjunction with From the Street. There are only 24 copies of “ShotGunTongue” left and 25 of “Los Angeles Mental Institution”. Get yours now!

Thanks again to everyone who made it out and to Rusticoffee for supplying our delicious coffee. Be sure to check out Jonas’ new prints here and here as well as all the works from From The Street which is on view in our office gallery until March 4th.
