Join artist Kevin Bradley for a tour of #RobotWorld

Saatchi Art is excited to be presenting artist Kevin Bradley‘s first solo show in Los Angeles. Entitled Robot World, the exhibition features 14 monotypes, hand-printed utilizing both metal and wood type from Bradley’s acclaimed Church of Type. Moving to Los Angeles just three years ago from his native Tennessee armed with over 30 tons of letterpress equipment, Bradley immediately established a new epicenter for letterpress in his open studio on Santa Monica’s Pico Boulevard.

Curated by Rebecca Wilson, Chief Curator and VP of Art Advisory at Saatchi Art, Robot World features 14 original works created using an authentic handset letterpress technique. Intricately crafted and dense with layers of thick, hand-placed ink, Bradley’s abstracted creatures represent a striking contemporary spin on a medium traditionally reserved for utilitarian function. His passion for his medium is unmistakably evident both in the quality of the works themselves and in the way he speaks of his process. “There are no short-cuts as an artist and designer,” he says. “It is the connection that links to the past to the future in the present, one letter and one print at a time, since 1439.”

The show can be viewed by appointment at Helms Bakery District in Culver City until November 29 as well as online at  Saatchi Art.

Additionally, this Saturday, November 21, Kevin Bradley will lead a tour of the exhibition. For more details and to RSVP, please visit the event page.
